Diving Art Project

I don’t have body issues and I love to be as naked as possible, but this is not the case for most women. Sometimes when I am stripped down, it makes people feel uncomfortable because they are dealing with their own thoughts about their body. Negativity may be directed outwardly, but the root of it is usually an internal conflict.

A lot of women have distorted beliefs about their bodies. Somewhere along the way, whether it was from conditioning in this life, past on ancestrally through the DNA or carried forward from past-life experiences, women have carried shame about their bodies. I wanted to bring intentional creativity to those desiring to be comfortable in their own skin, to those healing from body issues and to those just wanting to feel joy & freedom in their body.

I am bringing the tool of intentional creativity to women in order to transform these belief systems. The body is beautiful. Everyone’s body. JUST THE WAY IT IS. The body is sacred and the body knows joy – if we allow it to be expressed.

Stripping down and looking at your body is not comfortable for a lot of women, especially in the presence of others. Women are afraid of being judged, not only by others, but by themselves.

I created a Diving Art Project where we stood stripped to almost nudity and painted each other with a sequence of colors and then dove onto a canvas on a soft surface at the beach and imprinting the energy of our bodies in movement onto the canvas. This process was designed to honor the body by painting it and then using the body as the “paintbrush” to create art while experiencing the joy of movement as the color was placed on the canvas in a dive and roll fashion.

The possible transformative messages that could be acquired through this process are:

“It is OK to love my body”

“It is OK to be in touch with my body”

“It is OK to expose myself – I am beautiful – I am safe”

“It is OK to have someone else honor my body in a non-sexual way”

“It is more than OK to feel joy in my body through movement”
